April has been a busy month, even though I’m working from home. I have two new items to share with you, my lovely readers!
First, I’ll share the shorter of the two items. Neoteny has a new review! Jennifer R. Jackson reviewed the book on her site, The Handy Uncapped Pen. She wrote some kind and thoughtful observations about my work! You can read the review here.
The next item will take a little more of your time, but it’s an exciting resource to share! I was originally scheduled to give a workshop as part of JaxPoetryFest. My workshop was on writing the praise poem, but with social distancing, we had to move all the workshops online. So I invited several of my writer friends from around the country, and we had a wonderful discussion over Zoom! I created presentation slides to accompany the audio, and it’s up on YouTube.
In this discussion, I spoke with Brad Kuhn, Darlyn Kuhn, Ona Gritz, Paula Hilton, Andres Rojas, Dan Simpson, Diane Wiener, and Joel Williams. We read our favorite praise poems, shared our own work, and offered advice for new poets. Here’s my discussion:
